🚨Canteen Manager(s) Needed
Duties include managing supplies and coordinating volunteer SUG.
The Cougar Canteen is an after-school snack shack that provides grab and go snacks for students staying for all school activities, not just athletics. The Canteen is located in Cougar Hall by the main gym. The Canteen is organized and run by adult volunteers and is open daily from 2:50 to 3:45. Funds are used to support the Booster Athletic Programs. All Oakton families are welcome to volunteer (no experience needed). 🍿

Directions for working the Canteen are provided and will be posted here for reference. 🍕
FUN FACT: The Canteen has gone cashless. Students can pay with cash IF they have exact change otherwise electronic payment is needed. This only applies to the after-school Canteen. Regular sports games concessions can accept cash or electronic payment.
"How does game concessions work?"
Game concessions operate using volunteers collected by the teams playing that night. Your Team parents should provide direction in this.
All products and supplies are provided by Boosters in advance. This includes a bank for the event and all directions on how to operate the game concessions.
The Concessions Manager for all of Boosters is Rachel Ament.

OAKTON STUDENT BUILDS TRAINING SANDPIT FOR ATHLETICS
Nick Rossini, Class of 2025, has upgraded the Oakton athletic experience by planning and building a sandpit for training purposes. This summer Nick completed his Eagle Project which benefitted Oakton High School. This past spring Nick presented his plan to the Boosters Board and with the support of family and friends completed his initiative. The training sandpit is a great tool for improving speed and agility. The sand provides resistance to challenge muscles, helping to make you faster and more explosive. The constant shift of sand under your feet engages small stabilizer muscles that improve balance and reduce the risk of injury.
The Boosters organization applauds and thanks Nick Rossini for his outstanding service to Oakton athletics. Go Cougs!
